A child psychiatrist is part of a team that has developed a drug-induced method to literally get inside disturbed children's minds to help them. An FBI agent then asks for her help as the serial killer is in custody but in a coma, and unless she can unlock the secrets of his mind, an imprisoned girl will be his next victim within hours.
